Fillout vs Tally: Two Generous Free Plans, Priced Side by Side (October 2026)

Fillout and Tally are the two form builders that give away the most. Both let you build unlimited forms for free, both include conditional logic and calculations on the free plan, and both say they add no fee of their own to Stripe payments. Most comparisons stop there and call it a draw.

It is not a draw. The free plans differ on one number, the paid plans differ on what each one unlocks first, and the right choice depends on which of those your blog hits. Every figure below was read on 27 October 2026.

The verdict

Tally wins on the free plan: no fixed monthly cap, where Fillout stops at 1,000 responses. Tally also removes branding and adds a custom domain for less. Fillout wins when you want cheaper respondent emails, larger free uploads, or forms that feed straight into an app or CRM.

Fillout: Free to 1,000 responses a month. Starter $19, Pro $49, Business $89 a month.

Tally: Free with unlimited submissions under fair use. Pro $29, Business $89 a month.

Where we stand. We earn commission on Fillout sign-ups through our links. We have no deal with Tally. This page hands Tally the free-plan verdict anyway, because that is what the two pricing pages show. Prices come from each vendor’s pricing page and help centre, and neither tool has hosted a live Blogging Titan form yet.

The free plans

Tally’s free plan has no fixed submission limit. Its fair-use page gives examples of what it treats as heavy use, around 50,000 submissions a month or 100 GB of uploads a month, which no ordinary blog will approach. Fillout’s free plan includes 1,000 responses a month. Fillout’s help centre says a form that goes over keeps collecting and the count resets on the 1st, but an account that stays over may lose features.

For most blogs, 1,000 responses is plenty. A contact form, a quiz and a newsletter form rarely pass a few hundred a month between them. The cap matters if you run a giveaway, a viral quiz or a paid campaign that sends traffic to a form.

Where the paid plans split

The two companies unlock features in a different order, so the cheaper tool depends on which feature you are paying for:

You wantFilloutTallyCheaper

Billed yearly, Fillout is $15, $40 and $75 a month and Tally is $24 and $74, so the order does not change. On the two Business plans the yearly rate saves 15.7 percent on Fillout and 16.9 percent on Tally.

If you need to email people a copy of their answers, Fillout’s Starter plan does it for $10 a month less than Tally Pro.

Where Fillout pulls ahead

  • Native marketing integrations. Fillout lists native connections to Mailchimp, ActiveCampaign, HubSpot, Brevo and Klaviyo. Both tools connect to Zapier, Make, webhooks, Google Sheets and Airtable.
  • Bigger free uploads, 20 MB against 10 MB, which matters for guest-post drafts or design briefs.
  • A route into apps. Fillout forms can be moved into a Zite workspace to sit on a shared database. See Fillout vs Zite.

Where Tally pulls ahead

  • No monthly cap on the free plan.
  • Clean, branded forms for $29, $20 a month less than Fillout.
  • Custom domain and partial submissions on its first paid plan.

For a blog that only needs forms and is happy on a free plan, Tally is hard to beat. For a blog that is turning forms into a lead pipeline with a CRM behind it, Fillout’s integrations and its Zite connection are the reason to pick it. Our Fillout review covers the rest of what its free plan does.
