Fillout vs Jotform: Free Limits, Paid Limits and the Currency Question (October 2026)

Jotform’s plans are built around limits: forms, monthly submissions, stored submissions, upload space, payment submissions, signed documents. Read those limits next to Fillout’s and the difference on a free account is large. Read them next to each other on a paid account, and it narrows to one or two features that may matter to you.

One complication first. Jotform showed our UK browser prices in pounds, and its pricing table would not render from a United States connection. Fillout showed US dollars to both. We have not converted either currency, because the exchange rate a vendor uses is not the one on the news. Prices below are given in the currency each site showed us on 27 October 2026.

The verdict

Fillout gives a blogger far more on the free plan: unlimited forms against 5, and 1,000 submissions a month against 100. On paid plans Fillout still includes more submissions per tier and unlimited users, where Jotform’s tiers are single-user. Jotform is the one to choose if you need HIPAA-enabled forms, which it offers on Gold.

Fillout: Free: unlimited forms, 1,000 responses a month. Starter $19 a month for 2,000.

Jotform: Free: 5 forms, 100 submissions a month. Bronze £29 a month for 1,000.

Where we stand. Blogging Titan is paid commission on Fillout sign-ups made through our links and has no arrangement with Jotform. Every limit below is copied from the two pricing pages as they appeared on 27 October 2026, and we say where the two companies make claims about each other. Neither has run a live form for us.

The total-storage line is the one to notice. Jotform’s free plan stores 500 submissions in all, so a contact form that takes 100 messages a month fills it in five months. Fillout’s plans carry no total-storage line; its fair-use policy gives 250,000 stored submissions as an example of excessive use.

If five forms and 100 submissions are already tight, Fillout’s free plan lifts both limits.

Jotform also caps forms per tier (25, 50 and 100) and payment submissions (100 and 250 a month on Bronze and Silver). Jotform states that it “will never charge you extra transaction fees” on payments, and Fillout’s payment help page says it adds 0 percent, so neither adds its own cut on top of the payment processor.

Claims each makes about the other

Fillout publishes a comparison page about Jotform, and it is a sales page. It says Jotform forms are “automatically disabled” when a free account reaches its limit. We could not confirm that wording on Jotform’s own pages, so treat it as Fillout’s claim. Fillout’s own help centre says its forms keep collecting after an account goes over its limit.

Where Jotform is the better choice

  • HIPAA. Jotform lists HIPAA-enabled features on Gold and Enterprise. We found no HIPAA statement on Fillout’s pages.
  • Signed documents. Jotform’s free plan includes 10 signed documents a month.
  • An established template library if you prefer starting from someone else’s form.

Where Fillout is the better choice

  • Anyone on a free plan. Unlimited forms against 5, and ten times the monthly submissions.
  • More than one person editing forms. Jotform’s Bronze, Silver and Gold plans are listed as single-user plans.
  • Quizzes, scoring and calculations, all on Fillout’s free plan. See our lead-magnet quiz guide.
