Fillout vs Zite: Same Company, Different Jobs, Separate Bills
People search “Fillout vs Zite” because the two products keep appearing together. Both sites carry the same footer, “© 2026 Restly, Inc.” Fillout’s pricing page has a box headed “What is Zite?” that answers: “Zite is the platform behind Fillout.” Fillout’s own log-in button leads to an address on app.zite.com. It is reasonable to wonder whether they are the same product with two names.
They are not, and the difference decides which one you pay for. Fillout collects information through forms. Zite builds the software that information goes into: the CRM, the portal, the tracker. Most bloggers need the first and only some need the second.
The verdict
Pick Fillout if you need forms: contact forms, quizzes, bookings, paid audits. Its free plan covers 1,000 responses a month. Pick Zite if you need an app that people log in to, such as a client portal or a CRM. Pay for both only when your forms need to feed an app, and then price the Team bundle.
Fillout: Forms. Free to 1,000 responses a month; Starter $19 a month, or $15 billed yearly.
Zite: Apps, databases and automations. Free plan with unlimited users; Pro $25 a month, or $20 billed yearly.

When a form is enough
A form ends at the submission. Someone fills it in, you get the answers, and what happens next happens somewhere else: your inbox, a spreadsheet, your email list. That covers almost every form a blog runs. A contact page, a lead-magnet quiz, a sponsorship enquiry, a paid consultation booking. Fillout handles all of those on its free plan, including Stripe payments with no Fillout fee added.
If your list above is all forms, start on Fillout’s free plan and stop there.
When you need an app
You need an app when the submission is the start of a process. A client sends a brief, you accept it, the project moves through stages, the client checks progress and uploads files. A form cannot show that client their own project next week. Zite can: it builds a portal where clients sign in by magic link or Google and see the records that belong to them, backed by a database you control.
Zite is also built to absorb Fillout. Its FAQ says existing Fillout forms appear under “Classic workspaces” and can be moved into a Zite workspace, where they share a database with your apps. Zite’s help centre adds a condition: a form that uses more than one Zite database cannot be moved. You keep the form you already built and gain somewhere for its answers to live.

The billing trap
Because the two products are so closely connected, it is easy to assume one subscription covers both. Zite’s FAQ says plainly that Fillout Forms and Zite have separate plans and a paid plan for one does not upgrade the other. If you pay for Fillout Pro and Zite Pro separately on monthly billing, that is $49 plus $25, or $74 a month.
The plan that covers both is the Team bundle, listed under a “Scale” tab on both pricing pages: $300 a month, or $250 a month billed yearly ($3,000 a year). It includes 800 AI credits, a million records and roles and permissions for a team. For a solo blogger that is far more than needed, so two separate entry plans, or one free plan and one paid, will usually cost less.
Which one, by situation
| Your situation | What to use |
|---|---|
| A blog with a contact form and a newsletter signup | Fillout Free |
| A quiz that segments new subscribers | Fillout Starter, which adds a separate result page per outcome |
| Paid audits or consultations booked through the blog | Fillout Free with Stripe |
| Freelance clients who need to see project status | Zite Free, then Pro for a custom domain |
| Intake form feeding a client tracker | Fillout form moved into a Zite workspace |
| A team of five running forms and internal apps | Price the Team bundle against two separate plans |
