Fillout vs Typeform: What Each Costs at Your Response Volume (October 2026)
Typeform made the one-question-at-a-time form familiar, and it is still the name most people reach for first. It is also the most expensive way to collect responses of any form builder we priced this month. Typeform’s free plan stops at 10 responses a month, according to its help centre, and its cheapest paid plan, Basic, includes 100 responses a month for $39.
Fillout’s free plan includes 1,000 responses a month. This page sets the two side by side at the response levels a blog actually reaches, using prices read from both pricing pages on 27 October 2026.
The verdict
For a blogger paying out of pocket, Fillout costs less at every response level we checked, and its free plan covers the 1,000 monthly responses that Typeform charges $79 a month for. Typeform is the better pick when you already run your business inside it and the cost of moving matters more than the subscription.
Fillout: Free to 1,000 responses a month. Starter $19 for 2,000, Pro $49 for 5,000, Business $89 for unlimited.
Typeform: Free to 10 responses. Basic $39 for 100, Plus $79 for 1,000, Business $129 for 10,000.

What each costs at your response level
We took the cheapest published plan that covers each monthly response level, on month-to-month billing. Typeform sells response add-ons; we did not use them because their prices were not on the plan cards.
| Responses a month | Fillout plan | Fillout cost | Typeform plan | Typeform cost |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 100 | Free | $0 | Basic | $39 |
| 1,000 | Free | $0 | Plus | $79 |
| 2,000 | Starter | $19 | Business | $129 |
| 5,000 | Pro | $49 | Business | $129 |
| 10,000 | Business | $89 | Business | $129 |
At 1,000 responses a month the gap is the whole of Typeform’s Plus price, $948 a year, because Fillout charges nothing. Over a year at 5,000 responses on annual billing, Fillout Pro costs $480 and Typeform Business costs $1,092, a difference of $612.
If your forms take fewer than 1,000 responses a month, move one form to Fillout’s free plan and compare the two side by side for a month.
Typeform showed us two sets of prices
Reading Typeform’s pricing page from a United States connection, the plan cards said Basic $39, Plus $79 and Business $129 a month, or $28, $56 and $91 billed yearly. Further down the same page, the “Compare all plans” table showed $29, $59 and $99, or $25, $50 and $83. Typeform’s help centre says it tests different prices with different visitors. We used the plan-card figures, which also match the yearly saving each card prints, and we would treat any quote of Typeform pricing, including ours, as something to confirm on the day you buy.
From our UK browser the same page showed pounds: £21, £42 and £70 a month billed yearly. If you are in the UK, expect to see sterling at checkout; we did not go as far as paying.
Where Typeform is the better choice
- You already run on it. Moving dozens of live forms, their logic and their integrations is real work, and the subscription saving takes time to pay it back.
- You want vendor-run workflow features. Typeform sells a Growth Flow plan built around automating marketing workflows. Fillout includes its own Workflows feature on every plan, but nothing packaged the same way.
- Your team is small and fixed. If one person builds every form, Typeform’s seat limits will not bite.
Where Fillout is the better choice
- Any blog under 1,000 responses a month. That is most of them, and Fillout charges nothing at that level.
- More than one person editing forms. Fillout has no seat limit on any plan.
- Quizzes and calculators. Fillout includes calculations and scoring on the free plan. Our lead-magnet quiz guide shows the setup.
