Typeform Alternatives for Bloggers: Five Form Builders With Bigger Free Plans (October 2026)

The usual reason a blogger looks for a Typeform alternative is a number: 10. That is how many responses a month Typeform’s free plan accepts, according to its help centre. Its cheapest paid plan, Basic, includes 100 responses for $39 a month. A contact form on a modest blog can pass both in a week.

We priced five alternatives on 27 October 2026, three hosted and two that run inside WordPress. Every one of them has a more generous free plan than Typeform. They differ on where your answers are stored, which matters more than most comparisons admit.

The verdict

Fillout is the closest hosted replacement: 1,000 free responses a month, unlimited forms and seats, and quizzes and payments on the free plan. Tally is the pick if you want no monthly cap at all. Formidable Forms is the free WordPress plugin to choose if you want entries stored on your own site.

Best hosted replacement: Fillout. Free to 1,000 responses; Starter $19 a month.

Biggest free plan: Tally. Unlimited submissions under fair use; Pro $29 a month.

Best free plugin: Formidable Forms. Stores entries in WordPress; Basic $39.50 for the first year.

Where we stand. One product on this list, Fillout, pays us commission when readers sign up through our links. None of the other four do. We ranked Tally above Fillout on free submissions because its pricing page says so. Every figure is from each vendor’s own page, read on 27 October 2026; we have not tested any of them on a live form, and our Proof-of-Use Test is why we say so.

1. Fillout

Fillout’s free plan covers 1,000 responses a month with unlimited forms and unlimited seats, plus conditional logic, calculations and scoring, Stripe payments with no Fillout fee, and Airtable, Google Sheets and webhook connections. At the volume where Typeform asks $79 a month for its Plus plan, Fillout asks nothing. Our Fillout vs Typeform comparison runs the costs at five response levels.

Try Fillout’s free plan. It is the nearest like-for-like move from Typeform.

2. Tally

Tally’s free plan has no fixed submission cap. Its fair-use page describes heavy use as roughly 50,000 submissions or 100 GB of uploads a month. Pro, at $29 a month or $24 billed yearly, removes branding and adds a custom domain and partial submissions. Our Fillout vs Tally page shows which features each unlocks first.

3. Jotform

Jotform is the most limit-driven of the five. The free plan allows 5 forms, 100 submissions a month and 500 stored submissions in total. Of the five alternatives, it is the only one that lists HIPAA-enabled features, on its Gold plan; Typeform reserves HIPAA for Enterprise. Jotform showed our UK browser prices in pounds. Fillout vs Jotform has the full tier table.

4. Formidable Forms

Formidable is a WordPress plugin with more than 300,000 active installations on wordpress.org. Its plugin page says submissions are stored in your WordPress database, so you can read them in your dashboard if email fails. Paid plans start at $39.50 for the first year on one site, renewing at the full price of $79. Its knowledge base says a 3 percent fee applies to payments unless the site has an active Business or Elite licence.

5. WPForms Lite

WPForms Lite has more than 5 million active installations. Read the small print before relying on it: WPForms’ own documentation says Lite “doesn’t store your entries locally” and sends them by email. If your site’s mail is not working, those messages go nowhere. An optional cloud backup called Lite Connect keeps a copy that is restored when you upgrade. The pricing page also says a 3 percent fee applies to payments on the free version.

Why storage matters more than features

We found this out the hard way. From at least 7 September to 22 October 2026, WordPress mail on Blogging Titan was broken, and our contact forms only sent email. None of them stored a copy. A form builder that stores answers, whether hosted or in your database, would have kept every one. Our WordPress form builder guide goes through which plugins store entries for free.

Questions people ask
