8 SE Ranking Alternatives Compared on What They Actually Cost (2026)

SE Ranking is one of the better-value all-in-one SEO platforms, and our SE Ranking review explains why we keep recommending it to bloggers on a budget. This page is for the other situation: you already use it, something about it is not working, and you want to know what else is out there.

Most alternatives roundups answer that by listing eight tools with their cheapest advertised price. That comparison is close to useless, because the headline price and the price you actually pay are different numbers on almost every platform in this category. SE Ranking is a good example. Its entry plan is advertised at $129 a month. Add white-label reporting and API access, both of which it sells on annual billing only, and the real figure on that annual rate is $217.20 a month.

So this comparison is built around what each platform costs once it is configured to do the job, alongside the specific reasons bloggers and small agencies leave SE Ranking. Every price below was read from the vendor’s own live pricing page on 29 August 2026.

Where we stand. Blogging Titan earns affiliate commission on some of the tools mentioned on this site. We are telling you that here, above the first recommendation, because our own research found that 80% of page-one “best blogging tool” advice has a financial stake in the answer and 42% of monetised pages disclose it late or never. We have also not been given review accounts for every tool below, so this article compares published pricing and published feature lists. It does not claim hands-on testing we have not done.

Quick comparison

Tracked keywords is the column that matters most, because it is the limit bloggers hit first and the one vendors use to push you up a tier. Prices are monthly list unless marked.

Tool Best for Entry price Keywords at entry Backlink index
SE Ranking The baseline: cheapest full platform $129 2,000/day Yes
Nightwatch Agencies who resent add-on pricing €79 500 No
Ahrefs Serious backlink research $129 750 Yes, the largest
Semrush Breadth beyond SEO $139 500/day Yes
Mangools Cheapest daily tracking at scale $37.70 annual 200 Yes, 100k/mo
Wincher Bloggers who only want rankings €49 500 Higher tiers only
AccuRanker Rank tracking accuracy and speed $224 2,000 No
Sitechecker Audit-led workflows $99 500 Not a core feature
Serpstat Cheapest entry into a full platform $50 See note below Yes

Two notes on that table. Nightwatch and Wincher price in euros, not dollars, so their figures are not directly comparable to the rest and we have not converted them. Serpstat meters “keyword checks per month”, a different unit from tracked keywords that cannot be compared line for line. We have left the cell blank, because a number there would look comparable and would not be.

First, name the reason you are leaving

The right replacement depends entirely on which part of SE Ranking stopped working for you, and the five common reasons point at five different tools. Working out which one applies takes about thirty seconds and saves you from buying the wrong thing.

Decision tree matching five reasons for leaving SE Ranking to the alternative each one points to
Blogging Titan analysis. Prices read from each vendor’s own pricing page, 29 August 2026.

If the problem is cost after add-ons, you want a platform that includes white-label and API in the base price. If the problem is backlink data quality, no amount of price optimisation helps and you need a real index. If the problem is that you are paying for a platform to use one feature, a dedicated rank tracker costs a fraction. If the problem is update frequency, that is a specific line item to shop on. And if the problem is that you have outgrown SEO alone, you are looking for a bigger suite, not a cheaper one.

The add-on maths, which is the part nobody shows you

SE Ranking’s Agency Pack, which is what turns reports white-label, costs an extra $69 a month. Every plan now bundles an API credit allowance, 25,000 a month on Core, and the API add-on at an extra $45 a month buys volume beyond it. Both add-ons are sold on annual billing only, so a monthly subscriber cannot buy either at all.

Stacked bar chart showing how white-label reporting and API add-ons change the real monthly cost of five SEO platforms
Blogging Titan analysis. SE Ranking figures use annual billing, the only way its add-ons are sold.

That changes the comparison completely. On annual billing, SE Ranking Core is $103.20 a month, which looks like the cheapest platform here by a wide margin. Configured with white-label and API, the same plan is $217.20 a month. Nightwatch includes white-label reporting, API access and unlimited user seats in its €159 Professional plan with no add-ons at all, and gives you 2,500 tracked keywords against SE Ranking’s 2,000.

Ahrefs is the clearest example of how much this matters. Its Standard plan at $249 includes API access, but white-label reporting is a separate Report Builder subscription at $99 a month, which takes the real figure to $348. Semrush is worse still for this particular job: API access does not appear until the Advanced plan at $549 a month, and white-label report branding is another $10 to $20 on top.

The honest caveat: almost no blogger needs any of this. White-label reporting exists so that agencies can put their own logo on a client report. If you are running your own blog, ignore this entire section, take the annual price, and skip to the rank-tracker options further down. We have included the maths because the agency configuration is where SE Ranking’s value argument actually gets tested, and because nobody else publishes it.

The alternatives

1. Nightwatch, if the add-ons are why you are leaving

Nightwatch is a rank tracker whose agency features come in the base plan. Its Professional plan at €159 a month covers 2,500 keywords across 25 websites and includes white-label reporting, API access and unlimited team seats. Starter is €79 for 500 keywords across 5 sites, and Agency is €399 for 7,500 keywords across 100 sites.

What it does better than SE Ranking. Everything an agency needs is in the base price, and seats are not metered, which matters if you have contractors moving in and out of the account. The free trial runs 14 days with no card required, which is unusually generous in this category.

The downsides. There is no backlink index, so this replaces SE Ranking’s tracking and reporting but not its link monitoring. Pricing is in euros only, with no dollar toggle on the pricing page, so your cost moves with the exchange rate. And the flat pricing that makes Professional good value makes Starter look expensive at €79 for 500 keywords.

2. Ahrefs, if the backlink data is why you are leaving

SE Ranking has a backlink index. Ahrefs has the backlink index. If link research is the job, this is not a close comparison and no pricing argument changes it.

Pricing. Lite $129 a month for 750 tracked keywords and 5 projects. Standard $249 for 2,000 keywords and 20 projects. Advanced $449 for 5,000 keywords and 50 projects. Enterprise $1,499 with an annual commitment. Extra user seats run $40 to $80 a month depending on tier, and white-label reporting is the separate $99 Report Builder.

The downsides. Per tracked keyword this is the most expensive option in the comparison at the entry tier: $129 buys 750 keywords on Ahrefs Lite against 2,000 on SE Ranking Core. Every extra seat is chargeable. And the annual discount is advertised as a percentage, so you cannot see your actual annual cost without starting checkout.

3. Semrush, if you have outgrown SEO alone

Semrush restructured its plans and the old Pro tier is gone. The current line is SEO at $139, Starter at $199, Pro+ at $299 and Advanced at $549, with 500, 500, 1,500 and 5,000 daily tracked keywords respectively.

What it does better. Breadth. Advertising research, social tools, content tools and AI search visibility sit in one login, and for a blogger running paid traffic alongside organic that consolidation is worth real money.

The downsides. Its keyword allowances are the least generous here relative to price: the $139 plan tracks 500 keywords where SE Ranking’s $129 plan tracks 2,000. Extra users start at $45 a month. If you want the platform for SEO alone, you are paying for a lot of surface area you will not open.

4. Mangools, for the cheapest daily tracking at agency scale

Mangools bills annually and its Agency plan is $97.70 a month for 1,500 tracked keywords updated daily, with five extra seats and 1.2 million backlink rows a month. Basic is $37.70 for 200 keywords on weekly updates, and Premium is $52.70 for 700 keywords, also weekly.

What it does better. On price per daily-updated keyword at the agency tier, nothing else here is close. It also has the friendliest interface of any tool in this comparison, which sounds like a soft benefit until you are training someone else to use it.

The downsides. Update frequency is the catch on the lower plans, and weekly rank data is not enough if you are reporting to clients or reacting to volatility. The keyword allowances are small in absolute terms. There is no white-label reporting listed. The money-back guarantee is 48 hours, which is short.

5. AccuRanker, if rank tracking is the only job

AccuRanker sells rank tracking and nothing else, and prices it accordingly: Professional starts at $224 a month for 2,000 keywords, with the price scaling by a keyword selector, and Expert starts at $764 for 10,000. Unlimited read API access is included on Professional.

What it does better. On-demand refreshes and data accuracy are the reasons people pay this much for a single feature. If your rank data is feeding a dashboard or a client report where being wrong is expensive, that is the argument.

The downsides. It is the most expensive way to track 2,000 keywords in this comparison, and it does no keyword research, no site audit and no backlink analysis, so it belongs alongside SE Ranking and cannot replace it. No free trial appears on the pricing page. White-label is not offered.

6. Wincher, for bloggers who only want rankings

Wincher is the budget end of dedicated rank tracking. Basic is €49 a month for 500 keywords across 10 websites with one user. Standard is €89 for 1,000 keywords across unlimited websites. Professional is €319 for 5,000 keywords.

What it does better. It is the cheapest honest entry point on this page for someone who genuinely only needs to know whether their posts are moving. Local rank tracking with weekly updates is included on every tier, and there is a WordPress plugin, which removes a login from your week.

The downsides. Pricing is in euros. The jump from Standard to Professional is steep. Backlink data only appears on higher tiers, and API access is not on Basic, so the entry plan is a reporting dead end if you ever want to automate.

7. Sitechecker, for audit-led workflows

Sitechecker leads with site auditing, and rank tracking sits behind it. Basic is $99 a month, or $83 on annual billing, for 500 keywords, 5 websites and 10,000 crawled pages. Standard is $249, or $208 annual, for 1,500 keywords and 50,000 pages. Premium is $449, or $375 annual, for 5,000 keywords and 200,000 pages.

What it does better. Crawl allowances are large for the money and the audit reporting is the product itself. API access is included on every plan, which is unusual at this price and a genuine advantage over SE Ranking’s $45 add-on.

The downsides. White-label is Premium and Enterprise only, so the agency configuration starts at $375 a month on annual billing. Backlink analysis is not a headline feature. And the keyword allowance at the entry tier is a quarter of SE Ranking’s.

8. Serpstat, for the cheapest entry into a full platform

Serpstat’s Individual plan is $50 a month, which is the lowest entry price of any full platform here. Team is $100, Team x2 is $169 and Agency is $410. Backlink analysis is included on every plan.

What it does better. Price. If your objection to SE Ranking is simply that $129 is more than you want to spend on SEO software, this is the tool that answers that objection without dropping you to a single-feature tracker.

The downsides. Its usage metering is not comparable to the rest of this list. Serpstat counts keyword checks per month rather than tracked keywords, so the Individual plan’s 10,000 checks is not ten thousand of anything you can line up against SE Ranking’s 2,000 daily tracked keywords. API access starts at Team, not Individual. White-label is Agency only, at $410.

Which SE Ranking alternative should you choose?

You are a blogger tracking your own site. Wincher Basic at €49 or Mangools Basic at $37.70 annual. Both do the one thing you need. Neither asks you to fund an agency feature set. If you want to keep the wider platform, SE Ranking Core on annual billing at $103.20 is still the best value all-in-one on this page and there is no argument for leaving.

You run client reporting and the add-ons are the problem. Nightwatch Professional at €159. White-label, API and unlimited seats are in the price, against $217.20 for the equivalent SE Ranking configuration.

Link building is the actual job. Ahrefs, and accept that you are paying a premium per tracked keyword to get the index. Pair it with a cheap tracker and leave Ahrefs on the tier your link research needs.

You need daily rank data on a budget. Mangools Agency at $97.70 a month on annual billing, for 1,500 keywords refreshed daily. AccuRanker if the accuracy has to be defensible and the budget stretches to $224.

What we could not verify

Moz Pro belongs in this comparison and is not in it. Every request we made to moz.com was refused at the network layer, including the bare domain, so we could not read Moz’s current pricing from Moz. Rather than copy figures from a review site and present them as checked, we left Moz out. If Moz is on your shortlist, get the price from Moz.

We were also unable to confirm annual dollar figures for Ahrefs and AccuRanker. Both advertise a discount as a percentage without displaying the resulting price, so every annual figure attributed to those two tools elsewhere on the internet is either derived or invented. We have used their monthly prices throughout and said so.

A note on pricing dates

Every figure on this page was read from the vendor’s own pricing page on 29 August 2026 and is listed in the currency that vendor displayed. This category re-prices often. Semrush restructured its entire plan line within the last year and retired a tier that is still quoted as current in a large number of comparison articles, which is one of the reasons we date our figures and re-check them before reuse. If you are reading this well after that date, click through and confirm before you buy.
