Kit (ConvertKit) vs beehiiv: beehiiv Just Repriced. Here Is What Each Costs at Your List Size (October 2026)

Kit versus beehiiv comparisons written before October 2026 describe beehiiv plans that no longer appear on its pricing page. On our 4 September reading, beehiiv’s paid plans were Scale, at $49 a month or $43 billed yearly, and Max at $109 or $96. By our reading on 3 October 2026, Scale and Max were gone. The two paid plans are now Lite, at $59 a month or $49 billed yearly, and Pro, at $109 or $95.

The cheapest paid plan on the page went from $49 to $59, which is 20.4 percent, sometime in the 29 days between our readings. Today’s figures are at the page’s opening setting of 1,000 subscribers; our September note did not record the slider position, so treat the percentage as the change in the price a visitor first sees. Kit, formerly ConvertKit, has not changed a price in our log since 20 July. Both histories are kept on our Kit and beehiiv pricing pages.

The verdict

Kit is cheaper for most bloggers. Its free plan covers four times as many subscribers, and its paid Creator plan costs $20 a month less than beehiiv Lite at 1,000 and 5,000 subscribers. From 10,000 subscribers Creator and Lite charge the same month-to-month price, and beehiiv’s ad network becomes the deciding factor.

Kit: Free to 10,000 subscribers. Creator $39 a month at 1,000, $33 billed yearly.

beehiiv: Free to 2,500 subscribers. Lite $59 a month at 1,000, $49 billed yearly.

Where we stand. Both email platforms run affiliate programmes, and the links to them here may pay us. Our research on tool advice is the reason this box sits above the verdict. We have reviewed both, in our Kit review and beehiiv review, and read the prices below with each subscriber slider moved step by step.

What each costs as your list grows

Both vendors price by subscriber count. Kit’s page shows the yearly rate as its big number and prints no monthly price at all. We recovered it from Kit’s own saving line: add the saving to the yearly total and divide by twelve. beehiiv prints both once you switch the billing toggle.

Subscribers Kit Creator, monthly beehiiv Lite, monthly Kit Creator, per year billed yearly beehiiv Lite, per year billed yearly
1,000 $39 $59 $390 $588
5,000 $89 $109 $890 $1,140
10,000 $139 $139 $1,390 $1,428
25,000 $199 $199 $1,990 $2,028

The surprise is the right-hand half of the table. At 10,000 and at 25,000 subscribers, Kit Creator and beehiiv Lite charge exactly the same month-to-month price, and on yearly billing they are $38 apart at both sizes. The large gap only exists at the small end, where most bloggers actually are.

The upper plans do not converge. Kit Pro is $79, $139, $189 and $279 a month at those four sizes. beehiiv Pro is $109, $199, $239 and $349, a gap of $30 to $70 at every size.

Below 2,500 subscribers the honest comparison is free against free. Kit’s free plan runs to 10,000 subscribers, so a blogger can grow a list four times larger before paying anything.

Who each one is for

Pick Kit if email supports a blog, a course or a product and you want to stay on a free plan for as long as possible. It is cheaper or equal at every size we checked on monthly billing, cheaper at all four on yearly billing, and free for longer. Current figures are on the Kit pricing page.

Pick beehiiv if the newsletter is the product and you plan to earn from sponsorships through its ad network, or want the website and podcast tools beehiiv lists on every plan. From 10,000 subscribers Lite costs the same as Kit Creator month to month, though beehiiv Pro stays dearer than Kit Pro. Check today’s pricing on the beehiiv pricing page, and expect it to move again.
