Cloudways pricing in 2026: every plan, and what it has cost since July
$14/mo to start. Read from Cloudways’s own pricing page in US dollars, with every earlier reading we hold kept on the page.
The short answer
Cloudways on DigitalOcean starts at $14 a month for the Micro server, billed monthly or hourly, with no contract and no renewal step-up. Small is $28, Medium is $54 and Large is $99. It is one of the few hosts in our cost index where the advertised price is the price you keep paying.

Price change history
No change to the listed rates between 3 September and 5 November 2026. There is a methodological note worth more than the prices here: fetching this page as plain HTML returns $11 for Micro on every check we have made, because the real figures are rendered by JavaScript. The number a scraper sees and the number a buyer sees are different, so this page has to be read in a browser.

What the pricing page does not tell you
Cloudways has the simplest pricing page in this set, with two things still worth knowing.
- Prices exclude tax and the page says so.
- Promotions run frequently. On 4 September 2026 the page carried 40 percent off for four months, valid until 15 September 2026. On 5 November 2026 it offered 80 percent off for two months, which would make Micro $2.80 a month, under a Black Friday banner of up to $200 off a month. We did not read that offer’s terms or end date, so budget with the listed rates.
- Unlimited sites and unlimited visits are included at every tier, so the constraint is server size, not site count.

How we read these prices. Every figure on this page was read from Cloudways’s own pricing page on 5 November 2026. The latest reading was taken in a browser, because a plain fetch of this page returns a stale figure. The page prints USD beside every price. Several vendors in this category price by country. That is the most common reason two honest reviews quote different numbers for the same plan.

How much does Cloudways cost?

Is Cloudways billed monthly or annually?
Monthly, with hourly billing available. There is no annual prepayment requirement and no introductory rate that steps up later.
Why do some sites say Cloudways is $11?
Because the pricing page renders its figures in JavaScript, and a plain HTML fetch of the page returns an older $11 figure. We reproduced that on 3 and 4 September and again on 5 November 2026. The browser shows $14.
Does Cloudways have a free trial?
Yes, with no credit card required. Our September readings recorded a 3-day trial. The FAQ text we fetched on 5 November 2026 says 5 days on the Flexible plans, which include DigitalOcean, and 3 days on Autonomous, so check the length when you sign up.
